Spring 2009 Tournament
Schedule below

The LSYSA Spring 2009 season comes to an end this Sat/Sun with the Spring Tournament. It will be a single elimination competition with 1st Round matches played on Saturday morning and the Semifinals in the afternoon. All of the (15) finals will be played on Sunday afternoon. Most of the matches will be played at Park West, except for (8) matches on Sat morning at JIYSC and (2) at Trident Academy on Sat afternoon.

Here a few things to remember:

  • There must be a winner. Overtime play is 2 x 5 min Golden Goal followed by PK’s.
  • Only players on the field at the end of play can participate in PK’s.
  • Make sure your parents stay on the opposite side of the field. Coaches are responsible for the actions of the parents.
  • Proper substitutions with players at midfield to wait until referee has motioned them in
  • Sportsmanlike behavior on the sidelines from the coaches. (Excessive yelling will not be allowed.)
  • Address the referee is a respectful manner.
  • Home team will provide a game ball.
  • Pay referees prior to the match.
  • ROSTERS WILL BE INSPECTED PRIOR TO EACH MATCH!!!!

On behalf of all of the teams in LSYSA, I want the thank McDonald’s for their support of youth soccer here in the Lowcountry and the LSYSA.

I also want to thank Alex Voelker, LSYSA Referee Assignor, for his efforts this season. I think we can all agree that we are heading in the right direction. A slap on the back also goes out to Neil Veloso, former LSYSA President, who stepped in to keep LSYSA afloat and who made my job easier in providing a sound youth league environment for the kids to play in.

Finally, let’s have fun and no matter what the outcome of the match, be sure to tell your players how great they are and how proud you are of them!

It has been my pleasure serving as your Commissioner this season.

All the best, Kenyon

Welcome to the LSYSA Spring 2009 Season
Notes to Teams-Clubs

The Spring 2009 season is upon us (Saturday, Feb. 14). We would like to thank all of the teams and clubs for their efforts in getting registered in a timely manner. LSYSA would like to welcome some new teams from:
Coast FA (U9-G Black),
NASA (U10-G Strikers, U12-G United, U9-B Panthers, U12-B SIS Sharks from Beaufort),
JIYSC (U9-B Lightning)
SSC (U10-B Crew, Burn, Wizards, U10-G Breakers, Spirit, U12-G Panthers)
MPSC (U9-G Fusion II, U9-B Carolina Warriors)
DISA (U9-G Eagles)
HVU (U9-G Sting)

Well done!

REPORTING SCORES: It is the responsibility of the Winning team to call in the scores. In case of a tie, the Home team calls in the score. Both teams should verify the score with the referee after each match. Details can be found in the Schedules-Standings section.

Communication: It is imperitive that ALL CLUBS & TEAMS input contact information (email/phone numbers) for Team coaches & Team managers on the Team Pages and club officials (in Club Directory). We would also ask that teams input roster details including email addresses (parents) in order that the "new" LSYSA newslettter is sent to as many homes as possible. (This is not mandatory, but suggested.)

Local McDonald's Stores Agree to LSYSA Sponsorship for 2009

(12-29-08) The LSYSA will have McDonald’s as a sponsor for both the spring and fall seasons in 2009. The program will be similar to what was offered this past fall. Players will all receive a League Coupon good for the whole season and redeemable at all of the 32 stores in the tri-county area when a player comes to the store wearing their soccer jerseys. McDonald’s will also make available downloadable coupons on the league’s website and also in the monthly LSYSA E-News that will start in February.
Funds from McDonald’s will be allocated towards awards for each season. We ask that all clubs display the banners provided last season during LSYSA matches on Saturdays.
LSYSA would like to thank Lowcountry Soccer for its efforts in securing the sponsorship. More details about the 2009 sponsorship will be forthcoming as the spring season approaches.
